Wandering on the West Coast

When work has been intense and the world feels heavy with all the things that people do, South Africa’s West Coast is my place to go.

Quiet, raw, and supportive of solitude. Beautiful in its own way.

I recently did a quick solo surf trip up the coast and spent some time walking around with my camera. It was good for me to come back to the slow process of observation.

1 - Stoute (translates as ‘naughty’ in Afrikaans) painted on a rock above the ocean. Brendon Bosworth. 2022.
2 - Gulls above broken mussel shells. Brendon Bosworth. 2022.
3 - A deceptively clean-looking left-hander peeling off unridden with no takers in the vicinity. Brendon Bosworth. 2022.

These shots were processed with Fujifilm’s Monochrome-Red profile. I’m preferring it over Acros at the moment. It’s much punchier and more contrasty. (If you want to know more about my work with Acros check out this post: Why I love Fujifilm Acros on grey days.)
